Can Pregnant Women Drink Tea?

When you are expecting, you know that you need to be aware of foods and stuff which are not good in pregnancy. For example coffee is considered unsafe because of the amount of caffeine in it, but what about tea? Is it safe to drink tea during pregnancy?

Tea is an approved beverage but not all the teas are same and some are as strong as coffee. It is highly recommended by health experts that 200mg of caffeine is more than enough for a day’s consumption.

If the amount of your caffeine intake is more than 200mg, the risk for your pregnancy also increases; leading to miscarriage, premature delivery or baby born with lower birth weight, fast heart rates, and increased breathing rates.

So, it is advisable to consume teas which are safe and healthy, like TISANES (another name for herbal tea). Herbal teas are made by soaking leaves, berries, roots, bark, flowers, and seeds of different plants which provide medicinal benefits.

While some teas are very beneficial for expecting mothers, some are better to avoid.
